Research institutes like the Freiburger Fraunhofer Institut für Solare Energiesysteme (Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg) or the Hamelner Institut für Solarenergieforschung (Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin) use laser microprocessing to develop new production methods and new solar cells.
