Compact and versatile

The new marking laser TruMark 3020 is an all-rounder

TRUMPF launches its newest marking laser, the extremely compact and versatile TruMark 3020, at the “Laser 2007. World of Photonics” trade show.
“The TruMark 3020 can be used in almost any environment,” says product manager Dr. Jörn Birkel from TRUMPF Laser Marking Systems AG. “It can operate under ambient temperatures of up to 40 °C without any problem – and without a water cooling system. Its unique air cooling system makes this possible.”

Just like all the other lasers from the TruMark series, the new TruMark series 3000 is distinguished by an innovative design and modular layout. Despite its excellent compact design, a pilot laser and an optical focus adjustment feature are available as options for the TruMark 3020. And even with these extras, the laser still weighs less than 10 kg. Compared to the VectorMark compact laser series the volume of this new machine measures only about a quarter of the VectorMark. This allows a better integration into other systems.

Scanner, laser head and power supply unit with hybrid cable are connected via plugs which also makes integration easy. Plug-in cards facilitate modular expansions to the control system. In addition the control system has eight inputs/outputs for fast signals in the microsecond range. This makes universal input signals of various voltage levels possible. Compared to earlier series the most recent marking laser from TRUMPF uses about 80 percent less power.

The TruMark 3020 laser performs almost all marking tasks in the infrared range. “The TruMark 3020 is an all-rounder,” says Birkel. “Its high beam quality along with a high pulse peak power allows it to mark almost any material.”
