One laser light cable for welding and cutting
The 2in1 fiber makes it possible for the TruLaser Cell Serie 7000 to weld and cut simply changing the optic

Cutting requires a higher quality beam than component welding, in which optimal results can be achieved with a lesser beam quality. To reduce the beam quality, defocusing the laser beam is not enough. That is why when switching processing methods the laser light cable has to be replaced. The laser beam only reaches the workpiece within the necessary parameters if the diameter of the laser light cable is suitable for the respective application.
Optimal cutting and welding with only one laser light cable: The new 2in1 fiber makes this possible in the TruLaser Cell Series 7000 laser system with disk laser. Its inner fiber core has a diameter of 100 µm, the outer ring core a diameter of 400 or 600 µm.
Double cladding provides the beam of the disk laser with the optimal focus diameter and ideal depth of field for each application.
When cutting, the laser beam is coupled in the inner fiber core with a diameter of 100 µm. The 2in1 fiber ensures that the laser beam reaches the workpiece at the right depth of field and the right focus diameter. Users switching processing methods in the TruLaser Cell Series 7000 with solid-state laser must only replace the processing optic.
When welding the laser beam is coupled in the outer diameter with a diameter of 400 or 600 µm. The control unit in the TruLaser Cell Series 7000 identifies, whether the machine should weld or cut and then automatically couples the laser beam to either the inner fiber core or the outer diameter by means of a core-switch. The new fiber technology provides users of the TruLaser Cell 7040 with solid-state laser with optimal processing results and reduces downtimes.
