TRUMPF is the first marking laser producer in the world to offer the direct connection of a laser to SAP R/3 via a printer interface. This makes marking as simple as printing, and it also enables so-called direct part marking. The defined standard printer interface of the SAP Printer Vendor program is used for operating printers. Simple and reliable connection to SAP is thus possible with all TruMark lasers. Here, the marking laser takes the place of the printer, and the material surface of the workpiece replaces label or paper.

As in the conventional marking of adhesive labels, forms are also created in the familiar SAP environment during marking with TruMark lasers. By means of manual or automatic startup of the printing order, these are lasered serially. Individual forms with corporate logos, serial numbers or codes can therefore be created directly from the SAP system and then directly applied to the components via laser. For the machine operator, handling is not altered in any way.

One device type for all TruMark lasers
The device type supplied processes print-mark data transparently, i.e. printing can take place directly from SAP, independent of the beam source or workstation installed.

Layout elements from SmartForm can be combined as desired
All SmartForm elements such as lines, texts, barcodes and also graphics can easily be printed onto the component.

Unicode capability supports multilingual texts
UTF-8 support enables text to be transported in several languages. The SAP texts are imaged on the TRUMPF font system.

Different print-data reception modes
Depending on the process, the print data can be pre-stored via an order list and can then be selected manually. A further option is for the printer to react to a workpiece positioning via a handshaking method. The direct print mode enables instant marking on the workpiece.
